Career Sharing: Fresh Graduates and Oil & Gas

Assalamualaikum,

Lama sudah ana tidak blogging. Mcmana la nk capai inspirasi blogger boy. Aiseh, diam x diam dah nk dkat amfat bulan lah ana start blogging. Ana tgk ramai ente2 kt luar sana adlah fresh graduates. Jadi ana dan ana rafalilah, ingin berkongsi dgn fresh graduates.. Ana harap yg 15 yrs experience pon leh share korg nyer opinion skali. So, first skali aku amek statement ni from one of the comments left in this blog.

Salam, bro blh tlg share skit tak, klau fresh grad - bachelor in mechanical, company mane y bagus utk develop career dlm O&G nh. Skrg ni sy dlm final sem, belum grad lg n agak blur mcmne nk start berkecimpung dlm O&G nh. Selalu nye most companies nk hire yg experience je.

Hmm..Mechanical..sebut mekanikal tu mcm pegi kedai beli pisang..pisang raja ada, pisang tanduk ada, pisang emas ada, pisang diatas peti pun ada.. So, my points is there are many areas in oil and gas that involves mechanical discipline. Of koslah company2 kebanyakannya looking for experience personnel. Reasons why,  you know why aite? Kalau aku bkak company drilling cap ayam pon aku most akan look for experienced   Ye lah..kalu x lingkop la company..Fresh grads ni amek bile rase nk sustain human capital in the organisation jer..So, the bigger the company, the bigger chances they hire numbers of graduates...Tapi ingat chances still rendah since competitions sgt tight..Ckp kosong je nih..jom borak yang ada isi sikit..

Design & Engineering

Haa..kt sini bidang2 consultant..If you are mechanical graduates, kt sini you can be Mechanical Engineer / designer and you also can apply for Piping Engineer / Designer. Tapi apa yang aku boleh rekomenkan, rembat je pape position since korang Fresh Graduates. Nanti pepandai la HR exec tu slot-in kan korang punye resume. Just a few.

Graduates Career Alert: SapuraAcergy Opens!

Great news for graduates. Just been told by some of my friends to recommed SapuraAcergy, the Asia Pacific Offshore "Installer" of choice. My first thought, would it be nice to be assigned to Sapura3000, a heavy lift and pipelay vessel?

You can cruise to this jobstreet.com link and applied. Ensure that you meets all the requirements but for sure there will be hundreds of applicants and some of it even having master post graduates. Hey, is Sapura3000 means for it lifting capacity 3000MT? Still can't beat Asian Hercules II then.

Multi National Oil Company (MNOC)

MNOC is the companies that incorporated privately, non-government linked. They are the independent energy company that ventures globally to produce oil and gas. For instance, they are given license by the government or the NOCs to find and develop the potential field. Some of MNOCs player are

Part I: Types of Offshore Platforms

Hola dudes, feelin' good? Yeah, buckle up ladies cause today I will babbling about types of offshore platforms available in the upstream sector. Ahh before that, should I become a lecturer? First of all, I would like to differentiate between oil rigs and platforms as this will help for a better understanding.

Oil rig is a mobile offshore unit that floats and may placed for temporary works or jobs. It can be categorised as MODU (Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit) or MOPU (Mobile Offshore Production Unit). MODU is basically used for drilling works before the production and processing parts comes in. It can be known as semisubmersible drilling rig, barge rig, drillship etc. For MOPU, it serves on the marginal field, which is not economically viable to put an offshore platforms. Hence, these rigs practically contracted on leasing basis.

Malaysia Oil & Gas Engineering

Seblum seblum ni kalau aku surfing webpages pasal oil n gas kat Malaysia ni boleh dijadikan hiburan utk mengisi masa lapang bilamana posts or comments regarding careers in this industry. Contohnya, mcm razmahwata and forum lowyat. Yang torrbaikkk dijadikan contoh adalah seperti razmahwata. Most of it were guys who want to involve in the industry. Sekali kene komen pedas wata n jabba, haaa wakakakka la jwbnyaa....I believe some of the people knew a little bit about the industry and some who doesn't know anything at all. Just rushed in the net and pops out their immaturity. Tapi ape yg ak nmpak kebnyakkanyer adelah students2 yg sket lagi jer nk grad..Maybe die xtau nk maximize google nyer capability utk retrieve information. Hmm..back to the topic, for those who want to jump into the engineering environment, you could always refer to these council or associations yg ala2 persatuan mcm kat skolah dulu..
